Merry Christmas from Rainbow Sugarcraft

Here's an email we'd like to share from one of our cake decorating customers:-

'Hello, I have just received my sugar Edible Diamonds and wanted to say thank you for getting them to me in time for Christmas. They are absolutely beautiful and I am seriously considering wearing them instead of eating them! All The Best and Merry Christmas ~ Janice Page

There is only one more day for sending out Christmas orders of cake decorating supplies and then David and I will be able to relax and maybe go hiking for a couple of days before it all starts again. This has been our busiest December for Wedding Cakes in Scotland and we still have Wedding cake deliveries to be made to Gretna, Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as a mightly French croquembouche to end the year.

We'd like to thank all our smashing customers in 2009 who have written such lovely reviews about their Wedding Cakes and wish each and every one of you a wonderful 2010.

Here Be Dragons!

Sandra wanted to surprise her Welsh Groom so ordered a mighty Red Dragon Wedding Cake. It was quite a challenge delivering the Cake to the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel without anyone seeing him. The task was made especially diffcult as all the guests were in residence and the cake measure over three and a half feet long and weighed in around 70 lbs. We decided to disguise the dragon in a purpose made cardboard crate and once the coast was clear managed to sneak in and manouver him into the function room. Here he was given huge sugarcraft wings and his handcrafted personalised bride and groom passengers.

Sandra and her bridesmaids all piled into the Dragon's Lair to see the splendid beast. Amidst muffled gasps of astonishment and giggles, they locked the door behind them to prevent any prying guests spoiling the big surprise. It was wonderful to get such an astonished and delighted reaction to the Wedding Cake from the bride and her family. We also supplied a Scottish cake cutting sword, which the happy couple would use to slay their dragon, though we do hope they did it gently as we had grown rather fond of him during the week he took to create.

Summer Weddings

We've been busier than ever this summer so have no time to update the Blog or website. Instead we thought we'd share just a few of the super photographs and lovely comments you've sent this past few weeks.

"Thank you to Rainbow Sugarcraft for producing such an excellent representation of Machu Picchu in Peru. It was a shame to eat it but we did anyway!

When we went to Machu Picchu on our honeymoon, I just kept thinking of the cake!

The cake was delivered without any problems at all and we thank you for your very professional service. We couldn't recommend you guys enough for a unique and delicious Wedding Cake."
Robbie & Clare Dooley, Callander

"We wanted to Thank You for the absolutely gorgeous Pink Pearl cake you made for our Wedding. It not only look amazing (the detail was excellent!) but it tasted delicious too! It was the perfect centrepiece for our drinks reception at Dundas Castle. It was fantastic to have all the different layers so there was something for everyone (our personal favourite the the fruit tier!)

Please find attached a picture of us cutting the cake. If you need anymore we have lots of different angles as all our guests took photographs of the cake!"

"I just wanted to write and Thank You very, very much for the stunning cake you provided for our Wedding at the Balmoral last Saturday. It was truly wonderful and matched our room and flowers perfectly. The Wedding guests all thought it was both superb to look at and even better to actually eat (we had it as our dessert) The cake knife is also great and we will treasure it forever."

Francesca Wrigley, Balmoral Hotel.

"We have just got back from Honeymoon and would like to Thank You for the beautiful cake and sword you supplied for our Wedding Day. Everyone was so impressed and enjoyed it very much."

Claire & Nigel, George Hotel, Edinburgh

"We would just like to say Thanks for our Wedding Cake, it was delicious. Everyone said how beautiful and tasty it was, and the couple with the ladder figurine produced much interest and laughter!

Even the gluten free tier was absolutely delicious.

Thanks again
